Hello, I’m Dominique Warfield.
There’s a lot to a name—I’ll begin here.
I was born in Japan: to an ethnically mixed father, born into the United States' racial warfare in the 1960s, and a rural Filipina mother who was raised amongst the rice fields growing food with her family.
My father served in the U.S. Navy. I moved to the U.S. when I was five in various places around the the States. Eventually, we were rooted in the suburbs of Tampa, Florida. My mom kept her Filipina culture intact everywhere we lived. We sang karaoke at every large family barbecue; there was one or two every weekend!
I grew as a competitive cheerleader. Staccato movements, twisty backflips, and flying in the air matched my exuberant nature. I became alive performing comedic character roles in school musicals and lyrically dancing in recitals. I received critics’ choice awards and gold medals for my talents, but inside, I suffered, feeling lonely and contending with severe eczema.
In my early 20s, my life shifted drastically from the mainstream world I knew. I dove deeply into Bhakti Yoga, Native American sweat lodge ceremonies, and Ecopsychology. I started expressing my authentic feelings through free-form dance and ritual drumming with the moon's cycles. I met my Soul for the first time and began a lifelong journey of inner transformation.
It was during this time that my healing path emerged. It lay in the reconciliation of all that I kept hidden in my private world. How to integrate these fragments with self-compassion and meaning became my healing intention.
The insights I gained on this journey not only allowed me to feel deeply anchored and at home in my own skin but also gave me the tools to guide others in integrating the precious fragments of self into a beautiful whole—a whole where an empowered and vital sense of self is restored.
To support me in this mission, I have explored and trained in a range of modalities all over the world, including clinical trauma healing, therapeutic bodywork, the expressive arts, world music, and Eastern embodiment practices (Yoga and Qigong).
